Jaime Carvajal

Jaime Carvajal started his professional career in 1987 in in Lehman Brothers (New York), within the Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity Investment areas.

 In 1990 he went back to Spain where he founded Iberacción, a company mainly focused on restructuring processes for troubled companies.

In 1997, he joined the World Bank at its headquarters in Washington D.C., initially in the Financial Sector and Private Sector Development departments within the Latin America Division. He then became Special Assistant to the President of the Bank, James D. Wolfensohn, for a two-year period and subsequently as Lead Investment Officer in the Alternative Investments (Private Equity, Hedge Funds and Real Estate) unit of the Bank’s Pension Fund.

From October 2001 to December 2004, he worked at Grupo Banco Sabadell, initially as Director of BS Capital (in charge of the bank’s Private Equity investments) and then as CEO of the Private Banking subsidiary.

In January 2005 he joined Arcano Partners, where he is Partner and CEO.

Jaime has been Non-Executive Chairman of Evo Banco (2013-2019), Board member of Compañía de Distribución Integral Logista, Board member of Allfunds Bank, Board member of the Cercle de Economía de Barcelona (2016-2019), Trustee and Vice-Chairman (2009-2016) and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Princesa de Girona Foundation, Chairman of the Juntos Sumamos Foundation and Trustee of the Joan Boscá Foundation, the Spanish Institutional Foundation (FIES) and the Foro de Foros Foundation.

Jaime has a BSc in Physical Sciences from the University of Princeton and a Master’s in International Relations.
